Thank you for
thinking about enrolling your horse in the Greener Pastures Rescue Network.
Greener Pastures Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to
finding good new homes and providing better lives for horses in
The
following is an outline of the steps we take. Please carefully review the notes
on your horse for accuracy and, if possible, provide a current photo or two. We
cannot take responsibility for horses placed without our adoption program.
With the growing cost of band width and network
storage services, we are forced to make a change to our old policy of listing
rescue horses. We will be instituting a two tier policy for listing horses
on our website as of September 1, 2006.
Tier 1 listings will have a fee of $10 per month
for use of the GPR Network page with the Horse photo/information and owner’s
phone number. This fee will not
include any future services or oversight by our organization and the cost is a
monthly fee due by the 20th of the month.
Tier 2
listings will be the same as our listings have been in the past, however, a fee
of $250 will be due at the time of placement of the horse.
This fee will ensure the continued oversight our organization offers to
protect your horse in the future.

A.
If someone is
seriously interested in adopting your horse, you contact us with relevant
information and we in turn get in touch with the new owners and inspect their
facility.
B.
We do require a
current negative coggins and a rabies certificate.
C.
Once we have an
approval on the new home and the adopters sign the adoption agreement and pay
the adoption fee. You assign ownership of your horse to Greener Pastures
Rescue and pay the $250 non refundable fee.
D.
Your horse is
transported to its new home and our responsibility continues. We monitor the
well-being of the horse through phone calls and personal, unannounced visits.
E.
We consider it our
responsibility to make certain that the horse enjoys quality of life. If the
care is not up to our expectations, we either work on improving it or try to
find a new better home for the horse.
F. In order not to squander our resources, we ask you to please immediately inform us should you find a new home for your horse on your own or should you decide to keep your horse.
